Botox
Pre-Care Instructions for Botox Injections
One Week Before the Procedure:
- Avoid Blood Thinners: Refrain from taking aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E, fish oil, and other blood-thinning medications and supplements unless prescribed by your doctor. These can increase the risk of bruising and bleeding at the injection site.
- Discontinue Certain Supplements: Avoid herbal supplements like ginkgo biloba, garlic, ginseng, and St. John’s wort, as they can also have blood-thinning effects.
- No Alcohol: Do not consume alcohol for at least 24-48 hours before your appointment, as it can increase the likelihood of bruising.
A Few Days Before the Procedure:
- Avoid Certain Skincare Treatments: Do not undergo facials, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or other skin treatments that may irritate the skin in the days leading up to your Botox appointment.
Day of the Procedure:
- Clean Skin: Arrive with a clean face, free of makeup, lotions, and other skincare products.
- void Exercise: Refrain from strenuous exercise on the day of the procedure, as increased blood flow can affect the distribution of Botox.
- Eat a Light Meal: Have a light meal before your appointment to help prevent lightheadedness or dizziness.
- Hydrate: Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, which can help with the injection process and recovery.
Additional Considerations:
- Inform Your Practitioner of Any Medical Conditions: Disclose any medical conditions, including pregnancy, neurological disorders, or allergies, as these may affect your suitability for Botox.
- Plan Your Schedule: Schedule your Botox appointment at least two weeks before any significant events to allow time for any potential side effects to subside and for the full results to appear.
- Know Your Goals: Have a clear understanding of the areas you want to treat and discuss your goals with your practitioner to ensure realistic expectations.
Consultation:
- During your consultation, your practitioner will review your medical history, assess your skin, and discuss the treatment plan. This is a good time to ask any questions you may have about the procedure, potential risks, and expected results.
By following these pre-care instructions, you can help ensure a smooth and successful Botox treatment. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact your practitioner before your appointment.

- It can take up to two weeks for you to experience the full effect of your treatment. Remember, the objective of Botox is to improve the appearance of lines, and this takes time.
- Do not rub, massage, bend over or lie down for 4 hours after your treatment. This is to avoid the risk of pressure on the treated areas.

- It is best to exercise the treated muscles for 1-2 hours after treatment (e.g. practice frowning, raising your eyebrows, or squinting. This helps to work Neurotoxin into your muscles.
- Be sure to schedule a follow up in 2 weeks so we may evaluate your results. If more product is needed patient is reponsible for additional product cost.

Chemical Peels
Chemical Peel Pre-Care
To ensure optimal results and minimize the risk of side effects from your chemical peel, please follow these pre-care instructions:
- Discontinue the use of retinoids and exfoliants: Stop using any products that contain retinoids (such as Retin-A), acids (such as glycolic or salicylic acid), and exfoliating scrubs at least 5-7 days before your treatment. These can make your skin more sensitive and increase the risk of irritation.
- Avoid sun exposure: Stay out of direct sunlight and avoid tanning beds for at least 1 week prior to your chemical peel. Sun-damaged or tanned skin is more prone to irritation and adverse reactions.
- Avoid waxing, threading, or laser treatments: Do not wax, thread, or undergo laser hair removal or other facial treatments for at least 1 week before your chemical peel. This will help prevent irritation and sensitivity during the treatment.
- Avoid certain medications: If you are using acne medications such as Accutane, you must discontinue use at least 6 months prior to the peel. Additionally, stop taking aspirin, ibuprofen, or other blood-thinning medications 3-5 days prior to your treatment to minimize the risk of bruising.
- Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water leading up to your appointment to help your skin remain hydrated and better tolerate the treatment.
- Cold sores: If you are prone to cold sores, notify your provider in advance. You may need to take antiviral medication to prevent an outbreak around the mouth, as a chemical peel can sometimes trigger cold sores.
- Plan accordingly: Chemical peels may cause visible peeling and redness for a few days. Plan your appointment at least 1-2 weeks before any major events.
- Arrive with a clean face: Please cleanse your skin and remove all makeup, lotions, and skincare products before your appointment.
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior to your treatment, as it can dehydrate the skin and increase sensitivity.
Following these pre-care instructions will help ensure the best results from your chemical peel. If you have any questions prior to your appointment, please contact Youthbar at (303) 952-9906.
We look forward to seeing you.
Chemical Peel Post-Care
Chemical Peel Post-Care Instructions
To ensure optimal healing and the best results after your chemical peel, please follow these post-care guidelines carefully:
- Avoid sun exposure: Your skin will be more sensitive to the sun after the peel. Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 1-2 weeks, and apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30+ daily. Use Youthbar’s Sunscreen as directed, and reapply every 2 hours when outdoors.
- Do not pick or peel the skin: Let the skin naturally shed as it heals. Picking or peeling can lead to scarring or hyperpigmentation.
- Moisturize generously: Keep your skin hydrated by applying a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer. We recommend using Youthbar’s Hydrating Moisturizer to soothe the skin and promote healing. Apply it as needed, especially when your skin feels dry.
- Use gentle skincare products: For the first 5-7 days, avoid products with active ingredients like retinoids, acids (glycolic, salicylic, or lactic), benzoyl peroxide, or vitamin C. Use Youthbar’s Gentle Cleanser and Youthbar’s Recovery Serum to protect and heal your skin during this sensitive time.
- Avoid excessive heat: Steer clear of saunas, hot showers, steam rooms, and intense workouts for at least 48-72 hours after your peel to prevent irritation.
- Avoid makeup: Refrain from applying makeup for at least 24 hours post-treatment, or until the peeling process begins to subside. If necessary, use only mineral-based or non-comedogenic products.
- Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated from the inside out, which supports the healing process.
- Avoid exfoliation: Do not use any scrubs, brushes, or exfoliating tools until your skin has fully healed (usually about 1 week after treatment).
- Avoid smoking and alcohol: Smoking and drinking alcohol can impair the healing process and lead to slower recovery or suboptimal results.
- Follow-up treatments: Schedule any follow-up treatments or maintenance peels as recommended by your provider for optimal, long-term results.
It is normal to experience mild redness, sensitivity, and peeling for a few days after your chemical peel. If you experience excessive redness, swelling, or any other concerning symptoms, please contact us immediately at (303) 952-9906.

We’re excited to help you on your skincare journey. To maximize the results of your treatment and ensure a smooth recovery, please follow these post-care recommendations:
- Avoid sun exposure, including tanning beds and creams, for at least 1 week. Direct sun exposure can cause irritation and affect your skin’s healing process.
- Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30+ daily, starting 24 hours after treatment, regardless of the amount of sun exposure, and reapply every 2 hours when outdoors.
- Use tepid water and a gentle, sulfate-free cleanser when washing your face for the first 2-3 days. Avoid scrubbing; pat your skin dry gently with a clean towel.
- Makeup may be applied 24 hours after treatment. When resuming, opt for mineral-based or non-comedogenic makeup to reduce the risk of irritation.
- Moisturize daily, morning and night, starting 12 hours after your procedure and continuing for the next 3-5 days to aid in the healing process.
- Avoid harsh skincare products that contain parabens, petrochemicals, preservatives, alcohol-based toners, retinoids, acids (like salicylic acid), or other exfoliants for 10-14 days. Opt for calming, hydrating ingredients instead.
- Avoid rigorous exercise, saunas, hot tubs, and excessive sweating for up to 48 hours after treatment, as this could cause irritation or slow the healing process.
- Hydrate: Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated and promote healing from the inside out.
- Sleep on a clean pillowcase: It’s best to sleep with your head slightly elevated for the first night to minimize swelling, and using a clean pillowcase will reduce the risk of infection.
- Avoid touching your face excessively, and practice extreme cleanliness for the first 24 hours. Be sure to wash your hands before touching your skin, and take care when handling pets or diapers to avoid introducing bacteria.
- Do not use exfoliating tools like brushes, sponges, or devices for at least 7 days.
- Avoid picking or scratching at your skin if peeling occurs; let it shed naturally to avoid scarring or post-treatment complications.

Sculptra
Sculptra Pre Care
Sculptra Pre-Care Instructions:
- Avoid Blood Thinners: Avoid taking aspirin, NSAIDs (like ibuprofen or naproxen), and other blood-thinning medications for at least 1 week before the treatment, as they can increase the risk of bruising and bleeding.
- If you are taking prescribed blood thinners, consult with your physician before stopping any medication.
- No Alcohol: Avoid consuming alcohol for at least 24 hours before your treatment, as it can also increase the risk of bruising.
- Avoid Certain Supplements: Refrain from taking supplements like Vitamin E, fish oil, ginkgo biloba, and garlic for at least 1 week before your treatment, as these can also increase bleeding risks.
- No Recent Treatments: Avoid any other facial treatments like chemical peels, laser treatments, or microdermabrasion for at least 2 weeks before your Sculptra session.
- Cold Sores: If you are prone to cold sores, inform your practitioner. They may prescribe antiviral medication to prevent an outbreak.
- No Makeup: On the day of the treatment, arrive with a clean face. Avoid wearing makeup to the appointment.
- Comfortable Clothing: Wear comfortable clothing, preferably with a loose neckline, to avoid any irritation around the treatment area.
- Plan Ahead: Plan your schedule to allow time for potential swelling or bruising after the treatment. Avoid scheduling important events or activities immediately after the procedure.
- Medical Conditions: Inform your practitioner of any medical conditions, recent surgeries, or skin conditions.
- Medications: Continue to take any prescription medications unless otherwise advised by your doctor.
Sculptra Post Care
Post-care for Sculptra injections is crucial to ensure optimal results and minimize side effects.
Here are some general guidelines to follow:
- Massage the Treated Area: Gently massage the treated areas for five minutes, five times a day, for five days after the procedure. This helps to distribute the product evenly and prevent nodule formation.
- Ice Application: Apply ice packs to the treated areas for a few minutes at a time during the first 24 hours. This helps reduce swelling and discomfort.
- Swelling is Normal: Swelling is a normal reaction and can vary between patients. While some may experience swelling for just a few days, others may have it for a longer period. Additionally, swelling may settle in the lower half of the face due to gravity, which is also NORMAL.
- Bruising and Uneven Appearance: Bruising is common and can last for up to two weeks. An uneven appearance or inflammation may occur initially but should improve as the swelling goes down and the product settles.
- Avoid Strenuous Activities: Refrain from strenuous exercise and heavy lifting for the first 24-48 hours to reduce the risk of swelling and bruising.
- Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated and support the healing process.
- Avoid Sun Exposure: Protect the treated areas from direct sunlight and avoid tanning beds for at least a week. Use a high-SPF sunscreen if you need to be outdoors.
- Avoid Certain Medications: Avoid taking blood-thinning medications, such as aspirin and ibuprofen, unless prescribed by your doctor, as these can increase the risk of bruising.
- Monitor for Side Effects: Watch for any signs of complications, such as severe pain, excessive swelling, or signs of infection (redness, warmth, pus). Contact your healthcare provider if you notice any of these symptoms.
- Follow Up: Attend any scheduled follow-up appointments with your provider to monitor your progress and receive additional treatments if necessary.
- Avoid Other Facial Treatments: Avoid other facial treatments, such as facials, chemical peels, or laser treatments, for at least 1-2 weeks after the procedure, or as advised by your provider.

Weight Loss
Weight Loss Pre Care
Thank you for enrolling in the Youthbar Metabolic Reset.
The Youthbar Metabolic Reset is a clinician-guided metabolic optimization program designed to restore metabolic balance, improve insulin sensitivity, and support sustainable body composition change. This program may include GLP-1 or GLP-1/GIP–based medications such as semaglutide or tirzepatide.
To ensure treatment is safe and appropriate for you—and to establish a strong foundation for success—please review the pre-care guidance below.
Understanding Your Medication
About Semaglutide
- Semaglutide mimics GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1)
- Stimulates insulin secretion when blood sugar is elevated
- Reduces glucagon release
- Slows gastric emptying
- Signals fullness to the brain
- This helps control blood sugar and reduce appetite
About Tirzepatide
- Tirzepatide mimics both GLP-1 and GIP (glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide) hormones, providing broader metabolic benefits
- Enhanced insulin secretion and sensitivity
- Improved glucose metabolism
- Greater appetite regulation
- Tirzepatide often leads to greater weight loss and improved blood sugar control compared to GLP-1–only therapy
Which Medication Is Right for Me?
- Both medications help lower A1C and promote weight loss
- Tirzepatide typically results in greater weight loss and improved insulin sensitivity
- Individual response varies, and your provider will recommend the best option based on your health goals and medical history
Required Labs
- Baseline lab work is required prior to starting therapy
- These labs help your provider evaluate overall health, rule out contraindications, and establish a safe starting point
- CMP (Comprehensive Metabolic Panel)
- CBC (Complete Blood Count)
- Hemoglobin A1c
- Lipid Panel
- TSH (Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone)
- Additional labs may be recommended based on your medical history
Nutrition & Hydration
- Aim for 100–120g of protein daily to support muscle mass and metabolic health
- Eat smaller, more frequent meals
- Aim for balanced meals containing protein, healthy fats, and fiber
- Eat slowly and stop when comfortably full
- Stay well hydrated with consistent water intake throughout the day
Lifestyle Preparation
- Metabolic therapy is a tool, not a standalone solution
- Nutrition, movement, and lifestyle habits remain essential for long-term success
- Plan for regular physical activity that is realistic and sustainable for you
Medications & Health
- Inform your provider of all current medications and supplements
- Let us know if you have a history of gastrointestinal issues, gallbladder disease, pancreatitis, or thyroid conditions
- Avoid starting new supplements unless discussed with your provider
Food & Alcohol Considerations
- Avoid heavy, greasy, or very rich foods, especially when starting treatment
- Avoid late-night meals
- Remain upright after eating to reduce heartburn
- Alcohol may increase side effects and should be limited
Following these guidelines helps ensure safe treatment and support long-term results. If you have any questions prior to starting the program, please contact Youthbar at (303) 952-9906. We look forward to supporting you.
